“Powering Up!” with Author Anne Doyle and Friends

I experienced a day of pure joy after the 2023 IWF World Leadership Conference “What’s Going On?” in Motown, Detroit, with author and former podcast host Anne Doyle and some of her special IWF sisters and friends.

Anne’s book “Powering Up!”, now in its 3rd edition, started me thinking several years ago about the challenges and opportunities faced by different generations of women. It helped inspire the founding of Stilettos & Sneakers with my great niece, millennial Nicole Spiotta.

In the comfort of her cozy home in Auburn Hills and surrounded by Ruth Holmes, President of Pentec, Inc., handwriting and expert witness examiner, Karla Chambers, Co-Owner of Stahlbush Island Farms, Inc. Oregon, former Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, Detroit, Anne and others, I was surrounded by the riches of diverse disciplines, views, hearts and caring souls.

Sharing opinions, personal and professional challenges within this circle of amazing women was so special. It gives meaning to the saying, “There are times in your life when it does not get any better than this…”
